Electro Energy is at the forefront of power storage innovation working under R&D contracts for government agencies, including the U.S. Army, NASA and the Department of Energy.
In 1990, Martin G. Klein, an internationally known expert in the battery-fuel cell field, began focusing on the development of a breakthrough bipolar NiMH wafer cell. Mr. Klein spent 14 years developing the technology, funded over $30 million by various agencies of the United States Government, including the Air Force, NASA, the Army, Navy, and In-Q-Tel, the venture capitalist organization of the CIA. In 1992 he created Electro Energy to commercialize bipolar technology, as well as other advanced battery solutions. Through these demanding and diverse projects, the company has proven the viability of its revolutionary and internationally patented bipolar technology for numerous applications, from satellites to power tools.
The company has produced and delivered advanced battery solutions for the U.S. Army (field radios and silent watch applications), NASA (satellites), Partnership for a New Generation Vehicle (hybrid vehicles), NAVAIR and U.S. Air Force (F-18 and F-16 aircraft), National Institute of Health (heart assist pumps), and the Department of Energy (distributed energy and power quality).
